
KATKOP SAPS RAID & ARREST DRUG DEALERS
NGQAYI: Police in Ngqayi also known as Katkop nabbed two suspects who are allegedly dealing in drugs.
According to Captain Ursula Roelofse, the detectives managed to follow up on positive information during their investigation and nabbed the suspects for the possession of drugs.
Roelofse said SAPS members were busy earlier this month with their investigation duties when they received information that led them to Tsistana admin area at Ndingeni locality.

“The members immediately proceeded to the identified house and upon searching the house, a 74-year-old man led them to the room of his son where 16 sachets of crystal meths (tik) was found on top of the cupboard,” said Roelofse.
“The suspect at the time was arrested and the drugs together with cash were confiscated.

“In a second unrelated case in the Magedla area the detectives once again followed up on information at the premises of a well-known drug dealer.

“The house was searched and yielded positive results as 4 sachets of crystal meths was found and confiscated with cash and also 2 live rounds of 9mm ammunition.”
In addition, the police captain explained that the 52-year-old suspect was arrested while on bail for the same offence of dealing in drugs.
The Joe Gqabi District Commissioner Major General Lindelwa Vellem thanked the detectives for their swift reaction including the Ngqayi community for their cooperation with the police.
