JOE GQABI DM CONCLUDES CLIMATE CHANGE IMBIZO

MALETSWAI: The Joe Gqabi District Municipality concluded the Climate Change Workshop on Thursday as it was held in Maletswai.

A press statement dispatched to the media, revealed that JGDM is working hard towards the eradication of gas emissions.

Apart from gas emissions, JGD announced that the workshop focused on greenhouse gas emissions, mitigation responses, and mainstreaming climate change into municipal planning.

“This important initiative means that future development projects, infrastructure investments, and community programs will now incorporate climate considerations from the planning stage,” said the municipality.

“Residents can expect to see more environmentally conscious decision-making in areas such as water management, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and disaster preparedness, as the municipality recognises that addressing climate change is essential for community resilience and affects everyone’s quality of life and safety.”
